History
development of national testing regulation in Slovak
Republic.
Purpose
of testing regulations is to determine the proportion ability habit in general
obedience and other accomplishments for dogs. This way we can assure not only
sport utilization in training, but also ability to use dog in everyday life
in different situations. Testing regulations underlie changes same as other determination
activity. I will write in short development of testing regulations from 1942
in former Czech-Slovakia. Data about this tests and especially their symbols
often appear in males/females of past generations. There are many times misunderstand
because their meaning is not know mostly to younger generation. Typical example
is sign "OP" which mean protection dog. In history was this sign used
in all-purpose dogs, but nowadays this sign is used in special test for defense
dogs. Till December 12.1947 was good testing regulations issued by Czech-Morava
dog union in 1942. It had 3 levels of all-purpose training marked with sign
OP1-3. The examination precede endurance tests which dog had to do it next to
a bike, OP1 2x10km and OP2 2x10km in different days. For test OP3 40 kilometers
(km) in one day, time of that wasn't assigned. Czech-Slovak union published
in January 1.1948 testing regulations. It was again about all-purpose dog training.
Had 3 levels. First level was marked with VV, it was test of inherent knowledge.
Second level was know as test of grown ups with sign ZD. Last level had sign
ZV and that was test of performance.
Next testing regulation took effect Jul 1, 1950 and was published by Czech-Slovak
breeding union. Again there was 3 levels tests and dogs in general. Again was
used sign OP1-3. In this testing regulations they leave test VV, which is test
of inherent knowledge. In April 1, 1952, enter into force testing regulations
published Czech-Slovak Kynology union, but under new prepare organization, which
should have name Union of Czech-Slovak Kynology. This organization never become
legal because, Czech-Slovak Kynology Union went to union with partnership with
army. Here first time in history of testing regulations came to application
special tests for track dog and defense dog. Test for all-purpose dogs have
3 tests which are identify as a basic training 1-3 level with sign ZV 1-3. Special
tests have 2 levels label: defense dog OP 1-2 and track dog SP 1-2.
In 1957 union came with new publishing of this testing. Here comes to specific
organization dates and better graphical design. Type of tests, demonstration
of effort, their evaluation wasn't change. In July 1, 1964, come into effect
regulations which again published union for cooperation with army. There they
expand former testing regulations in other articles, level of tests and also
arrangement of new performance. As a new test is test of basic minimum with
sign ZM. Special tests are extend in one more, (third) level. In this short summary
you can remark that testing regulations published in 1952 was in stand 12 years
after all others were in stand maximum 3 years. This was the main reason why
composite author of this tests come back to basic questions. To checkup radical
approach organization and achievement which is the best comply and document
sport training dogs official breed and so there wouldn't be violation of service
utilization of dogs. This material was taken from testing regulations for service
dog breed, published in 1968.
